Welcome to Jupigio Artwork, where rare and unusual contemporary art comes to life. I’m Julia, a Welsh artist with deep roots in the scenic Swansea Valley. Over the past three decades, I have developed a unique artistic style, blending experimental techniques with traditional methods to create striking, thought-provoking works.

While living in the UK, I balanced a career as a laboratory technician testing beer with my lifelong passion for painting. Relocating to New Zealand allowed me to embrace a new life as a stay-at-home mother, giving me the freedom to experiment creatively and refine my artistic voice.

I am drawn to the unconventional and extraordinary, creating artworks that challenge norms and invite viewers to see the world differently. Each piece begins with in-depth research, ensuring that every detail captures the essence and authenticity of its subject.

Now back in Wales, I am excited to share my creations with the world. One of my monumental pieces, The Great Welsh Dragon, proudly stands at Swansea University, celebrating my Welsh heritage and dedication to contemporary sculpture.

My artistic journey spans over 22 years, with every artwork telling a unique story. While earlier works avoided political themes, my latest series, “Sins/Virtues,” reflects the complexities of modern life, with completion expected in late 2025.

• Inspirations range from the electrifying energy of David Bowie to the nostalgia and homesickness behind the Great Welsh Dragon.

• The Mental Health sculptures pay tribute to loved ones, offering hope, understanding, and awareness.

• My exploration of religious and spiritual themes, exemplified in works like The Book of Revelations, reflects a fascination with symbolism and spirituality.
