Let's Talk Art

Contact Julia O'Sullivan — Private Viewings, Commissions & Enquiries

Portrait painting of David Bowie inspired by his life and music, created by Julia O’Sullivan, featuring bold colors and an expressive, stylized interpretation of his iconic look.

Art creates conversation, and sometimes a website can only take that conversation so far.

Perhaps you've discovered a painting that has made you curious. Maybe you've read one of my journals and want to ask me something about the story behind it. You might be considering a commission, interested in an original work, or simply want to see the art for yourself.

Whatever brought you here, you're very welcome to get in touch.

Come and See the Art for Yourself

My home in Kidwelly, Carmarthenshire, Wales has gradually become something of a living gallery, filled with the paintings and sculptures I have created over many years.

And these are works that really do benefit from being seen in person.

Photographs can show you the overall image, and my journals can explain the stories, but they can't quite reproduce the physical presence, texture, scale and tiny details within the original works.

So if you'd like to come and look, private viewings can be arranged by appointment.

There is absolutely no obligation to buy anything.

Come because you're curious.

Look closely.

Ask questions.

Bring a friend if you'd like to share the experience. You can even bring a picnic and make a little trip of it.

I am very happy to talk about the work, explain how something was made, point out details you might not have noticed and, of course, hear what you see in it.

Sometimes art needs to be encountered rather than simply viewed on a screen.

Thinking About a Commission?

A commission begins with a conversation.

If you have an idea for an original piece, get in touch and tell me about it.

I work across painting and sculpture, but I don't simply reproduce an image and hand it back to you. The work I find most interesting has a story, an idea or something personal behind it.

So tell me why you want the piece.

What does it need to say?

What matters to you?

What story are we trying to tell?

From there, we can explore whether I am the right artist to bring it to life.

A commissioned artwork should belong to you while still carrying the hand and voice of the artist who created it.

Interested in an Original Artwork?

If a particular painting or sculpture on the website has caught your attention, you're welcome to ask about it.

Some works may be available and others may form part of collections that I wish to keep together, so please contact me for current availability.

There is never any pressure.

Buying original art should begin because something in the work has connected with you.

Catalogue & Purchasing

Currently being updated — coming soon.

As part of the wider development of my website, I am also updating the way my artwork, prints and other pieces can be explored and purchased.

More will be added here as it becomes available.

Explore a Little Further

If you're not quite ready to contact me, keep exploring.

Visit the Collections to discover the finished works.

Step into the Creative Galleries to follow selected paintings and sculptures through their creation.

Or enter the Artist Journals and read the stories, symbolism and thinking behind the art.

Because whether you eventually decide that you love something I've created, dislike it completely, or simply find yourself questioning it, I'm happy.

Art doesn't always need agreement.

Sometimes it just needs to start a conversation.

And if you'd like to continue that conversation with me, this is where it begins.
